People who are unaware of their own biases and triggers poise a danger to themselves and others. One of the most beneficial things you can do is to always analyze your own behavior: to know what you are, who you are, what you’re capable of, your weaknesses, and your strengths.
Most people have no idea who they are. They have no mental model of themselves, no understanding of how to build one, and so their worldview and soul state are always in constant flux.
The best model of the world is an imperfect mirror of the self. The more you understand yourself, the more you’ll understand others.
The most important thing in life is to know yourself. The second most important thing is to know you don’t know yourself. If you’re not constantly analyzing yourself, others will do it for you, but they won’t be as kind. And quite frankly,
The unexamined life is not worth living.
